Hi Folks,
With the new Building Codes for Hawaii County, it’s becoming harder to get permits for As-Built structures now. Our Architect isn’t willing to sign off on As-Built plans anymore and, often the cost and effort to bring the As-Built structures into compliance is not worth the rate of return.

So, we’ve decided that we will continue to help those with open permits but we are no longer able to take on clients that need new permits for As-Built structures.
We meet a lot of people who have built additions to their homes without taking out a permit thinking that they are building it to the current code, not realizing that building codes can and do change. Building requirements will only get stricter and more expensive over time.
We encourage those who have open permits to get those permits closed. If you are thinking of building a new home or addition, be sure to do your research and take out a permit if one is required. It’ll save you from a lot of headache in the future.
